PDP Concept Maple 12"x6" Black Wax Snare Drum

The PDP 6 x 12 Concept Black Wax Maple Snare Drum is named after the hand-applied wax sealant that protects the natural exterior and produces that dark, earthy matte surface. Maple is a popular wood for snare drums because it is warm and naturally EQ'd, with balanced lows, mids, and highs.

This snare has a smaller diameter than other snare drums on the market, allowing you to crank up the tuning without losing resonance or volume. It's not as sharp and poppy as the 6 x 10 model, but it has more meat on its bones in terms of sound quality.

This drum features dual turret lugs, a strong MAG throw-off, True-Pitch Tuning tension rods with additional threads for precise tuning, and Remo heads.
